Essential Oils, in use for thousands of years, are the potent liquids extracted from various parts of plants including stems, roots, barks, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds etc. The term ‘essential’ is used for oils as they carry the essence of the plant from which they are extracted.  

Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation, often by using steam.

Inhalation is the most effective way to use Essential Oils as this is the best way to feel the essence of the flavour that you have selected. Essential oils can be evaporated by burning on candles or oil burners or diffused in the air by using a diffuser or oil burner. They can be used in candle making.

In aromatherapy, the positive effects are ascribed to the aromatic compounds in essential oils.
